Earning gold isn't easy on RuneScape, not if you want to be earning 500k-1million gp (gold pieces) per hour in a consistent manner. It's even harder to find a money making method that helps you train useful skills in the long run too. Killing green dragons has been a staple of money making on RuneScape for 10 years, and this guide will show you how it's involved and how you can cash in.
Essentially, even though there are multiple green dragon spots around RuneScape, the most lucrative to hunt are the ones that are at level 11 wilderness, on the far west side just north of the dark mages. The reason for this being that they're relatively undermanned in terms of opponent players, and they're also very close to the Edgeville bank so you can restock and run back in a much shorter amount of time as opposed to farming the spot at level 18-22 on the East side of the wilderness. The short story is that you kill the dragons making sure you have an anti-dragon shield to protect you from Dragon's breath, collect the bones and hides and then once you have a full inventory you bank them. However the trick to making a lot of money is in making the whole process substantially quicker.
Here's how...
Banking is one of the activities that must be done to store the hides and bones, but it also takes a long time because even though the distance is short compared to the other hunting spots, it's still a long distance away. Taking a charged amulet of glory is key to speeding things up because you can teleport directly to outside of Edgeville bank which cuts the journey time in half.
Bringing a beast of burden - the best you can - is also critical because it increases your inventory space based on which summoning creature you create. Of course you should go for the best that you can summon from your pouches, but if you have the Sprit Terrorbird I'd also recommended bringing it's special ability scrolls which give you an energy boost for the run back, making sure your energy percentage stays high and hence your character is always running.
Take basic attack/strength potions to increase how high you hit and the percentage chance of you hitting at all. This doesn't reduce the travelling time, but it reduces the time spent killing the dragons and the potions only cost a small amount compared to how much time you spend - and hence how much extra money you're making. I would even advice taking super potions because the time you save would offset the costs of the potions in the long run.
Bringing a Dwarven cannon can be an effective tool from dissuading other Green Dragon killers from your spot because it's incredibly quick at killing everything. The downside is that the cannon balls themselves are too expensive to use it regularly. But the point of bringing it is that when your spot is crashed you take it out and kill the dragons and such a fast rate it forces the other player to hop worlds.
